The magic of photography has been with me since I was a boy. Watching my dad develop film and seeing prints appear in a tray of chemical solution was where my interest started. I'm not alone in this - I've heard that same story from many people I've spoken to over the years. Even today, I still use film for much of my personal work, and love the excitement and anticipation as negatives emerge from the developing tank.
Despite that early passion for photography, I began my working life as an apprentice engineer and eventually moved into IT and data networking, taking "early retirement" in 2008. Since then, I’ve been a full-time freelance photographer, printer, and designer, working from my studio in the beautiful Peak District National Park.
I've had the privilege of photographing some amazing people, places, and objects - too many to mention - and I'm forever grateful to the people who have trusted me with those opportunities.
Cheers,
Ian.
